Regulatory disclosure

We earn the credentials before we wear them.

Most insurance brokerages publish their regulatory standing as fine print at the bottom of the home page. znobia publishes it as the page. This document sets out, in plain language, where znobia sits in its authorisation journey, what activities it is and is not currently permitted to conduct, and how we update this disclosure as the position changes.

What this means for prospective clients

Pre-authorisation, znobia cannot place cover, accept instructions, or hold client money. We can — and do — write editorial, build the technical underwriting submissions a client would later submit, and prepare the operational architecture that will go live on the day authorisation issues. Prospective clients who engage with znobia at this stage are doing so on the explicit understanding that any formal mediation activity will only commence once authorisation is in place. We will not solicit business that requires authorisation we do not yet hold.

Post-authorisation, the AR interim allows znobia to begin placing cover under the supervisory umbrella of the Principal Firm, FRN [XXXX], whose FCA permissions and Consumer Duty obligations apply to znobia’s activity during the AR period. Direct FCA authorisation is sought in parallel and is intended to supersede the AR arrangement.

Post-Lloyd’s coverholder approval, znobia will be permitted to describe itself as a “Coverholder at Lloyd’s”, display the lockup per the July 2024 Coverholder Brand Guidelines, and publish its carrier-panel relationships with brand-asset permissions on file. None of these statements may be made before the permission letter issues.

“Institutional buyers run due-diligence questionnaires that test exactly the questions answered above. Burying the answers is a credibility cost, not a credibility saving.”

Forthright disclosure converts a regulatory limitation into a trust signal: the firm answers DDQ questions before they are asked. The page is part of the placement file, not adjacent to it.
