About znobia

A small named team of London-market practitioners writing cover for digital-asset operations.

znobia is a specialist insurance brokerage. We place financial-instrument and digital-asset cover via the London market, and we publish the editorial that informs the placements. The firm is small by design. Each principal is named. Each principal’s class specialism is published. Each principal answers their own email.

Thesis

Why this firm exists.

The digital-asset operators we serve — regulated custodians, exchanges, hedge funds, and fintechs with treasury exposure — face perils that generic insurance brokerages have not learned to read. Hot-wallet compromise is not smart-contract logic failure. A multi-signature wallet is not cold storage. A Crime binder is not a Specie binder. Buyers who run their own infrastructure at this technical depth deserve a broker who reads the binders at the same depth.

The market exists to serve them. The London market — Lloyd’s syndicates and adjacent company-market capacity — already writes hot-wallet, custody, cyber, D&O, and crime cover for this class. What has been missing, from where we sit, is a small specialist firm that reads both sides at underwriter depth and writes for an audience that does the same.

Disciplines

How we work.

We work to a handful of disciplines. First, we earn credentials before we wear them: the FCA authorisation, the AR principal relationship, the Lloyd’s coverholder application — each is published openly on the regulatory disclosure page, dated, and updated quarterly. Second, every client is assigned a named principal who carries the file end-to-end. Third, we publish what we know. The Insights archive is a public record of the firm’s thinking, in the firm’s own name. By the time a prospective client reaches us, they have read what we think — and we have already submitted a written account of our depth.

Boundaries

What we are not.

We are not a generic Lloyd’s broker who learned about digital assets last week. We are not a crypto-promoter. We are not an underwriter — we place risk; we do not carry it. We do not quote in thirty seconds. We do not offer “free” anything. We do not display badges we have not been granted.

Named team

Each principal carries their own file end-to-end.

Twelve to twenty years of carrier and broker experience. Named class specialisms. LMA / IRMI / CII credentials. We earn the badges before we wear them.
